Title: Knight
Post by: Dosser on October 02, 2008, 08:20:46 am
Hey all,

Here's a model I've pretty much abandoned for a month. I'm happy with what I've done so far, just having trouble working out how to proceed with it. It started with just a fancy helmet, then decided to do an armoured torso, then a leg (which can be mirrored).

My problem is working out how to continue with an arm and connect it all together. So far it is in 3 meshes (and I'll probably keep it that way for now, so I can mirror the second arm / leg after texuring), I think it would be awkward just to connect immediately.

Anyway, comments?

nice idea man but dont be lazy it will look pretty cool if you finish it and add a horse or something that will make it even better.

i think the best way to connect the arms is have some kind of shoulderpads. im sure it will cover up anything u might not get right plus it will make him look bigger than what he really is. kinda like a football player with pads on.

I am no expert on armour, but I didn't think armour came in one full-body piece.  It would limit one's movement somewhat, don't you think?  I thought armour was fitted to the body in separate pieces, with small pieces like shoulder epauletts (sp?) protecting the vulnerable joints.  It might be worth trying to find some reference images on the web, to see how these things were constructed.  You might be able to solve your problem of how to attach the arms by not attaching them at all!
