Wwow the JLA. Many moons since I read them comic books. Was there really that many Green Lanterns? Cool to see The Atom at normal height. Unless I missed him where's Hawkman? And the android Red Tornado? I like it though ... Mandrake, Shazaam, the martian - blast from the past. My fav is Green Arrow. Will ya do Ghost Rider at some stage???

Here is an unfinished Ghost Rider I started a bit back.  As I said not really finished all the way but you see where it is headed.  Thanks for the nice comments.  Anything else you wanna see?  Bet I got it... ;P

Cool I was wondering how ya would model the flames. I was going to suggest to "mess" up the flames a bit to give them that flicker but on second thought I think your models have that "toy" value like actual figurines so cool as. Anything else? Umm? How about some villians? Electro? Bizarro?

...Oh yeah!  The bad guys.  So much more fun to do than the Heroes.  Electro?  Got it...  I also have Bizaro.  He is the version from the Smallville TV show.  What else would you like to see... Like I said I bet I got it...

have you modelled any characters from The Incredibles?  i'd probably say that's my fave superhero film.

also: i really like the way you did the fire on the Ghost Rider pic.  what are the material settings for that?  (or is it a trade secret i'm not allowed to know about... ::) )

Electro is cool but I hadn't seen Bizarro on Smallville as I've hardly ever watched it but he sure looks different from the comic books. You certainly seem to have a history of Superheroes. Have you heard of Earth 3 or those heroes based on the Periodic Table(Lead, Gold, Silver, Tin, etc.)

...yeah I have the Crime Syndicate.  I put them all together in a scene.  Owl man is my favorite, but he didn't come out as clean as I would have liked.  So I stuck him in the back.  A damaged plane and some flames in the backgroung and there you have it.  The Earth 3 "heroes" in all their glorious distruction...

The flames on ghost rider are 2 part:

1. There is an inner and outer flame.  The inner is the outer resized just inside the outter.
2. Here is an example of the material settings.

Hint: More polygons will reflect the colors better.

Nice job so far dwalcott.  Your models are very simple at times, yet effective.  One thing that stands out is also the simplicity and low resolution of the textures.  If you can I would advise creating higher resolution textures, then we wouldn't be able to see the pixelation, which is currently very obvious.  Also, if you're to focus a bit more on lighting and rendering you could get the images to look much prettier.

The pace at which you're cranking these out is impressive though, as well as the number of models you've created overall (though many are pretty obviously modifications of others.)

... well, when you're working on stuff you really like, superheroes, giant robots, and space ships, the time seems to really fly.  I like to model but like to dress scenes even better.  The heroes are really easy because I basically use 4 defferent bases I modeled a bit back.  A male, a male with a cape, a female, and a female with a cape.  The variation from character to character comes with the textures( an art form in its-self)  and the accessories.  I love seeing the characters in the action in a scene and knowing I brought that to life.  I love anim8or.  They just seem to keep coming...

Anything you'd like to see that I haven't shown yet?

have you made a character "base" that you edit for each character you make, or do you make every character from scratch?

Not bad. You seem to be churning these guys out pretty well. You should take a look into improving your materials and texturing though!

...been gone a long while.  But have some nice things to share now that I'm back.
Star Trek: The Original Series USS Enterprise.  Includes Bridge, Transporter room, shuttle craft, and shuttle bay.  I also made a few of the other classes of starships.  Still finishing up the charatcters and engeneering room.

Any feed back?

awww how cool!  I have all the Star Fleet Technical Manual images for the backburner, in case I ever got around to trying to model these things, too!

Very very nice little batch of goodies. They'd be great for game making!

I thought the same thing. Your models are prefect for a game you should consider looking into game making. Nice job man.

Thanks Bobert!  I found with way more detail jammed in there it looks a lot better from far away.  Gonna do a re-render with reflections off the water at some point...
