Title: Shadows are the same color as the light
Post by: onespirit5777 on August 19, 2008, 08:20:29 pm
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the shadow that is being cast is the same color as the light. If I use two lights with different colors lets say yellow and blue. The blue light will cast a yellow shadow and the yellow light will cast a blue shadow.

Uh, think about it!  The yellow light casts a shadow, which the blue light "fills," and vice-versa.  Also, it looks as if your lights and textures are too bright.  Tone it down a bit.

The shadow is the LOSS of the light: that means that if you have a blue light, its shadow should be... nothing, which is black. But since there is a yellow light to fill the "nothing", the shadow becomes yellow.
Yet there is a point: why the non-shadowed areas are white? See. We have a blue and a yellow light. Yellow is analysed in red and green, so: Red + Green + Blue = White.
[somehow what RudySchneider said, but with more "blah blah" :) ]
