Title: Clipping planes? (feature request)
Post by: xalener on August 09, 2008, 12:41:52 am
Would it be possible to "clip" a selected object so that it appears progressively throuought a shot? A lightcycle beam to be more specific?

I just wanted to know if anything like this is being planned for anim8or...

you might have to experiment a bit to make it work, but i'd guess you could emulate that effect with morph targets.  just a thought.

For now I'd advise compositing multiple shots where you can clip the object manually in a video editing program.
Or, composite a shot of the main scene with a shot of the object being clipped out by another object such as a white plane or something.

What would be neat is if object could dissolve and reappear. I wonder if that could be done using key frames and working with transparent.
