I want to animate a picture I already have but when I try to open it in Anim8or it says "Just so you'd know: Error in reading file"

open the file in notepad, copy and paste contents into another file, save as sumthin.an8 and try to open it.thats all i can think of.the file could be corrupt so do a virus scan.
the house call is free and no download.

Are you trying to animated an actual image (.jpg/.bmp).
Open up Anim8or, make a plane, and then create a new material, with that picture in the diffuse channel, apply that material to the plane. Done!
For more information rad the manual, search the forums, and search Google.

allmost cool --- WHAT in the world are you talking about? And Tanzim, that's not enough info. Where's the part about what animates the picture?
Geob66 --- Anim8or is a mesh modeling and animation tool. You can translate individual or multiple meshes independently along the X-, Y-, or Z-axes, and/or rotate it (them) along the Roll, Yaw, and Pitch axes, or you can "skin" a mesh and deform it with bones. But, you can't actually animate a picture (such as a JPEG file) in Anim8or. Unless, of course, you're considering applying it as a UV texture map to a mesh surface, which you can then translate, rotate, and/or morph.
Could you be a little more specific about what you're trying to do?
