Circular Array
« on: July 13, 2008, 03:36:01 pm »

Let's say I've modeled a candle, and now would like to have a [perfect] circular of 16 of them sitting on top of a cylindrical cake.  Is there an easy way to do this?

Yep... you can use NickE`s mesh to path script  drag out a Non Geo circle and use your candle to follow the circular path on the cake`s top.

it can be achieved fairly easily.

1. select your candle in object mode
2. in top view move it to the left a bit.
3. go into object/axis mode
4. drag the axis into the center of the screen
5. rotate the object by 22.5 (360 divided by 16) 16 times.

Thanks, M, that worked perfectly -- and without resorting to an external resource (which I'm trying to avoid for the moment).
