Hairless Rodents

Hey, does anybody know how to generate fur or hair. I'm making a movie with animals but they look like hairless rodents.

there's a utility out there somewhere called hairgen, you might want to google it, or maybe check the anim8or.com utilities page first.  alternatively, have a read of the ASL board, someone might have posted a script on there.

i haven't tried it myself, so i'm not sure how reliable these methods are, but i'm pretty sure there's a tool or two out there.

basically you can use transmaps to make your fur.

so s earch for transmaps :)

Thanks but I was More looking for how to make hair/fur by each strand sort of like final fantasy advent of childern.

cooldude234:  http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=906.0.  That is exactly what you're looking for.  You'll have to adapt your own technique, as every individual strand can be strenuous, but perhaps you would want to copy a plane and add a transmap to add multiple pieces of hair or something like that.
