changing texture maps
« on: June 28, 2008, 11:43:16 pm »

is it possible, in an8's current making to alter the texture during sequence or scene mode. for example (if i'm being lazy and do not want to model the eyes and use 2 pics instead (eyes open & eyes closed). would i be able to vary those in scene or sequence to be rendered? if not, will there be such a function? plus will there be a png texture format available soon? terranim8or works fine 4 fire but i have to match the flame txtr background with that of the scene. Not trying to sound impatient, just want 2 know..  ;D ??? ;D ???

Anim8or cannot yet animate textures.  However, as with most things like this, there are a few work-arounds.  One way to do your eyes would be to model eyelids, and use morphing to switch from open to closed.  Another way would be to create two heads, one with eyes open, one with eyes closed, and switch from one to the other using the visibility function (both heads would occupy the same space in scene mode, but only one is visible at any given time using the "visibility" parameter).
