problems with figure sequencing.
« on: May 12, 2008, 10:13:48 pm »

Hi there:

I am very new at this.  I have done the bird walking tutorial and it worked fine, so i built an elaborate housecat with the moving skeleton, then i was able to make it walk.  But now i want to do a sequence when the cat sits, and im finding that the spinal "bones" will only articulate on one axis and i cant make the cat hunch its back to sit down.

I have returned to the figure editor several times and focused on trying to make the specific joints move on the right axis.   still no luck

I would be very grateful for any help

oh also, the figure seems to bend and modify exactly how i want it to in the figure editor, it is only in the sequence editor that i cant get it to bend

Have you tried using different types of mouse buttons.
LMB: X axis
RMB: Z axis
MMB: Y axis
Also try using then from different views.

Also make sure you have defined in what axis (or axes) the bone can move, and the range of its motion, by double clicking each bone in figure mode to open the bone properties.
