materials always look yellowish
« on: April 15, 2008, 01:06:27 pm »

Hey there,

it's quite strange but I never noticed it before.

1. Create a new file.
2. Create a sphere.
3. Create a new material:
ambient/specular/emissive: 0.0
diffuse: 1.0
diffuse-color (in rgb): 255/255/255
4. apply this material to the created sphere

In the standard-front-view the sphrere looks quite yellowish to me in the lower left corner. If you can't see it, try to use the arcball-rotation to see the sphere from another side.

I've never noticed that before...
So how can I render a complete diffuse white sphere?

Greets,
Laryllan

The yellow is because of the default backlight that is in object mode, which has a slight yellowish tint to it. If you want complete white, render it in scene mode with your own custom lighting setup.

Thanks Raxx... everytime it turned yellow I assumed I'd done something wrong! :)
