MACROMEDIA FALSH 5 & ANIM8OR
« on: April 10, 2008, 05:30:36 am »

Is it possible to move an image which is in Macromedia Flash 5 to a page in Anim8or (Object mode) which already has im image on it.   I want to try to superimpose one image on top of  another.   One from Macromedia and the other already in Anim8or.  If anyone knows how, could you please lead me through it step by step.   Many thanks.   Doug

could you explain that a little better? i'm not sure i understand what you're asking here

do you mean a half anim8or, half flash image?

eg.   top part of an image cartoonised in flash, and half of it 3d in anim8or

Joe   I want to try to animate, by the use of Macrmedia, a head which I have ceated in Anim8or.   So, basically, I need to know if it is possible to superimpose Macromedia animation onto an   Anim8or head.   dOUG

ummm...i'm still confused, i think you're trying to get an animated material onto an anim8or object, i think there is a way to do this using terranim8or, but i have yet to try it, since i'm still getting to grips with the tools of anim8or
i'm sure someone more experienced in the ways of terranim8or can help you with this, but i know for sure that it is possible to have an animated texture on it

it sort of depends what you mean by 'superimpose'...?

if you want to bring a flash-animated texture into anim8or and have that on your model in a 3-d scene, then you use terranim8or, like 3d joe said.  there's probably a tutorial on terranim8or animated materials out there somewhere.

if you want to import a render of your anim8or head model into flash, and then use flash to animate details in 2-d, then it becomes purely a question about flash technique, really, as the render will act just like any other image when it's imported to flash.  if that's what you're after, then we're probably not the best people to ask...

May I ask just one more question.   How do you import any image into Anim8or - say from Photoshop CS.    When I have tried to do this it never works for me.   Something about an "ERROR" all the time.   Thank you guys for all your help.   I do appreciate it.    Doug

You can only import .jpg .bmp and .gif files.  You don't go import, you want to create a material and add load the texture in the materials dialog box.

lutonprints, as I understand your question, you want to put a background image behind your anim8or head, correct me if I'm wrong.

You can do that in scene mode; put your object in the scene and add your image via Settings > Environment.
