Help with Error Message
« on: October 09, 2015, 02:14:28 am »

I imported a .obj into anim8or and made copies of the one model to create three of them. I attempted to export the new revised model and save it as a .3ds format. I got the following error message: "Cannot export to .3ds format because part of the model contains more than 65535 points". I got the same message for all three meshes. I grouped the meshes together and still received the same message. I also got the same message when I attempted to export the original (only one object) to .3ds format. Can anyone help me?

This is a limitation of the 3DS format. It uses 16 bit integers for vertex numbers. Try simplifying your model or splitting it into smaller parts.
