Whenever I try to import a figure, it crashes.
« on: April 10, 2015, 06:29:43 pm »

*selects figure to import*

This figure contains several objects. Would you like to import them as well?

*clicks yes*

Anim8or has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...

*closes it*

I already gave unique names to the figures and objects.

Figure: BladeMan (My mii)

Objects:

Head (BladeMan)

Hand (BladeMan)

Torso (BladeMan)

Figure: King Mii (:P)

Objects:

Head (King Mii)

Hand (King Mii)

Torso (King Mii)

Try naming 1 of the objects Object01......will be interesting....
Have also noticed that figure -> import can crash, but same file will open with File -> open.
Is this the same for you?

Does it matter which one?

Don't really know. Just try any one. Didn't seem to matter in the example files i posted in the other thread.

Same problem, but I did just figure out another way around it.

Import the objects first, then import the figure. When it asks if you want to import the objects as well, select no since you already did. It'll just use the ones that are already there.

Not something I can't work around, but I just found another bug. I'm trying to pose the figures for a picture in the scene editor, but it's really eager to reset the position of the figure and make it so that it stays that way when I press undo.

Want to move the figure? Reset pose.

Want to insert a new object? Reset pose.

Want to undo that last command? Reset pose.

Want to move this separate, completely unrelated object? RESET POSE.

And now the morph targets won't work in the scene editor even though they work fine in the object editor.

 I can't replicate these problems.
2 initial thoughts, maybe not the answers.
 Is green key on?
and re morphs not working, are their names showing up down the left of the ,timetrack.
Are you able to set morph keys in scene mode,  but just make no effect on character?
One good way toward getting it sorted would be to send me the file.
If you're cool with that, you could just attach it here, or pm me with file attached, (not actually sure if thats even possible?), or email it to me. johnar46@hotmail.com
I could have a look - see whats going on maybe....

I've tried it with and without the green key. And I can set the morph targets keys, they just don't have any effect.

I did have the same problem to begin with, then opened in buldd 1166, still the same, opened in 1164, it worked. Now i'm opening it in 1170 and all is working well. Have made some small changes in scene mode. Is this file working for you now?

Build 1166? I've seen that appear on the screen before Anim8or boots up. How do I change it to 1164 or 1170?

Also, what does it mean?

Downloaded the latest build.

Morph targets are working, but I still have the problem with resetting figure poses.

Noticed in your file there was nothing in Scene mode.
Open new scene and add figure. Build -> add figure.
When figure is in scene, turn green key on and place figure where you want him. (move him) There will now be a position key set in the time track. Select figure and rotate a bit. Now there will be an orientation key set in the timetrack. Now go to front view. Click on the button in the left panel, that looks like a windscreen wiper, and you should be able to see the bones in your figure. Select an arm bone with your left mouse b and drag bone down. (arm is now down) and there should be a key set in the timetrack for that bone. That arm should stay down, until a different key is set for that bone.
If you follow these steps, do you still have problems with pose resetting?
