I know it is possible to set light(s) in scene.
But is it possible to have one light in object editor, and to change its position, in order to have a first look on it ?

No, the only user defined lighting is in the Scene editor.

As Steve said. So just add it to a scene and mess with the lighting. It's not hard to switch to the Scene Editor for test renders if the Object Editor is insufficient.
