Scene mode bugs
« on: November 13, 2014, 06:18:27 pm »

.i'm blown away by the changes i'm seeing up to build 1127....

Importing and exporting scenes!@!!....Far out, i had no idea. I've tested it several times now, and have had much success.
tho i have got a couple of bugs to report.(three actually, 2 in scene mode, 1 globally)

 1) Figures not imported/exporting with scenes
(This might not be a bug. Are figures supposed to be imported/exported with scenes?)
I can import figures seperately after the scene, then all is good.
 (only tested on xp)

 2) No 'view' title showing in top left corners, in all modes.
I can click where the title should be, and the views popup menu shows, and works.
(and Nothing writin next to Robin at top of window.) (global)
(Windows 7 and xp)

  3) Rendering - Cant esc out of an openGL render. No way of stopping it.
 (Windows 7)
I cant test this on my xp laptop as there is no option under 'renderer' to use openGL.
 (probably a microsoft thing?)

I have 2 computers and operating systems. Windows xp, (laptop), and Windows 7. Compaq tower pc. (details at bottom of this post) i am unable to test Bug 1 on Win 7 at the moment. (PC has been busy rendering for last 2 days, only a couple of hundred frames to go now)
When done i'll check whether scene import/export issue behaves the same on 7 as xp, and update here.

Anim8or is really advancing now. What a great program.
 Amazing stuff Steve.
Am so glad you've retired and started upgrading this brilliant piece of software.
 An8 forever.

Regarding #2, with build #1129 I have no problem seeing the view labels in the top left of each view. I can't comment on the title since I'm running Window Blinds and it's kind of messing up the display, but it shows the application title text in the taskbar so I'm assuming it's alright.

johnar
The opengl renderer requires that your videocard
supports opengl 2.0 which is not the case according
to the spec you posted.

Hope it helps.

OK. Thanks Claude. That answers that.

(note: 3) still no esc/stop or cancel from OpenGL render in Windows 7)

And thanks for your input Raxx

Under windows xp, I have no view labels or titles in any version after 1103.

Under windows 7,i have no view labels or titles in 1127 or 1129.  (can only test 1127 and 1129, as nothing pre 1127 opens until back to build 1103.   labels and titles visible in 1103 and earlier

As far as 1) figure import/export goes, i've tested in all versions with no sign of any figures showing up.   Although sequences and keyframes do.

EDit Would just like to say, love that new option when theres missing textures, and now you can click cancel to stop the warnings while loading. Thats really cool.  No more clicking ók' a hundred times after you realise, too late, that all the textures for that project are in a different location than the one configured. lol.
 Nice wee addition Steve

2) (and Nothing writin next to Robin at top of window.)
This seems, or is, limited to Classic theme usage.

Regarding #2, ... it shows the application title text in the taskbar so I'm assuming it's alright.
Taskbar icon text is not effected by this. Or: Taskbar text is always showing the correct/intended text.

(edit: For both - Tested on Win-Xp, unsure about Win-7)

Couldn't agree more. Thanks Steve.

i have no view labels or titles in 1127
The 'Welcome to Anim8or' and 'Object:Object01' type messages in the title stopped working for me at 1086.
At 1086 the title just displayed the text 'Anim8or' and later versions had no text at all.
No problem with View labels. I use Vista Opengl 3.3 with the Classic theme enabled.

CrashDrive Yeah, i've been inspired, and now working on a 'short' movie. Have had quite some time off from regular 'anim8ing', now refreshed and keen. In process of re-rigging, after trying all day to modify existing rig, have decided to start a brand new one that will work properly with what i'm trying to do. Should've done that as soon as i saw the problem, but us kiwis like to have a go at fixing/modifying existing things first. In this case, a darn waste of time. lol
Will post about what i'm up to in the WIP in a day or so. Cheers
