Anim8or causes error in Nvidia Vanta NvOpengl.dll module
« on: March 29, 2008, 11:04:20 am »

Hello,

Anim8or works fine with my Windows XP and Windows 98se machines.

I put Anim8or on my Windows ME machine with Nvidia Vanta graphics card.  At first Anim8or looked real screwy on it then I updated the Drivers from the Nvidia Website.

NOW the only problem is I can't render Movies.   I can render images.  When I try to render a Movie
right before I get to the Video Compression selection I get the error "anim8or.exe caused error in NvOpenGl.dll"

I have renamed older NvOpenGl.dll drivers to make sure a conflict wasn't going on.

Does anyone have a hint or clue?

Thanks!  AlDi

Are you using OpenGL or Scanline to render?

Under Renderer...

There is only one selection and that is Scanline.

sounds weird... i've currently got nvidia and xp, and it all works fine, and i used to have 98se, and it worked fine.  from what i've heard, winME was just a really bad OS, so maybe you should just stick with running anim8or on your other 2 machines?

i used to only have scanline available in my list of renderers, under 98, but now under xp i've got an openGL option too.  i don't know much about alternate renderers, but i'd guess perhaps the openGL renderer is only available under xp or later?

OpenGL is available if your card supports OpenGL 2.0 or better
You said you renamed older NvOpenGl.dll drivers, did nVidia tell you to do that?
It might just be that your system (or just your graphics card) is too old to pull of something as big as a movie :(
