2 sided materials
« on: April 01, 2008, 08:28:39 pm »

I've noticed that ART does not render 2 sided materials. it only renders the front. it's not really that important but now i can't use ART features and the toon tutorial.

steve, maybe you could add 2 sided material support to ART, if that wouldn't involve too much trouble.

thanks,

The ray tracer wasn't designed to handle two sided materials.  Toon shadiing using one sided shells isn't physically consistent so I'm not sure it would work as well with a ray tracer.

could be irritating if you wanted one object with toon shading and one object with reflections in the same scene.

well, it's not really all that important. the reflections were only a minor part.
