I hate to rain on your parade, but uh that flag is backwards :P
besides that (and the fact the hands go through the arms, but I'm not going to complain about that) it looks great

Ahem...

While it's true we traditionally consider the stars to be in the upper-left corner on the FRONT of waving American flag, they will be appear to be on the upper-right if viewed from the other side of that same waving flag.  Also, flags are traditionally "backwards" on U.S. military uniforms.  See here: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/theorderlyroom/f/faqflag.htm

The reversed flag is only worn on the right shoulder. If a flag patch is worn on the left shoulder, it has the traditional orientation. This way it imitates how a free-flying flag would look if the soldier was running forward. Of course, this is the US Army's way of doing it, and FSS's character is more like a civilian. To an American, the reversed orientation doesn't look natural, so I'd recommend keeping the flags in the traditional orientation, but your method of mirrored texturing would mess it up one way or the other unless you fix the uvmapping explicitly for the flag. So the easiest fix would be to just reverse the flag on the texture and it'll have the soldier's effect.

(also FSS and others who use stock photos as references...sometimes those uniforms are set up and worn by civilian amateurs who don't know uniform regulations, so be wary when using them as a reference)

Thanks Raxx, they say you learn something new everyday, and today lives up to that saying.

PS. I NEVER would use stock photos for reference, one being what raxx said, they are most oftenly inaccurate, not real, they have a horrible water mark, and you have to purchase the image to gain copyrights for it (limited copyrights at that too).

Interesting 2 cents. Though Accuracy is never my goal. I'd much rather care about composition then sweating the details.

Looks great and nice work!  You did the flag according to the character!
