Looking for Cre8or
« on: June 09, 2012, 02:05:09 am »

Hello, I am looking for the Cre8or Game Maker, but it's not available nowhere in the web.
Has anyone got a copy of it?

Unfortunately, no.

But there's someone on the forum who's actively making an improved Cre8or.
Here's the link to the thread for the new version: http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=4041.0

Hm... Impossible, at least one person in this community must have Cre8or installed on his computer.

I'll be waiting until someone who has it reads this topic.

Sorry Bosco, I gave it a shot last night trying to find it on the internet, kept finding dead ends. I'd say the only location it would be at is on someone's harddrive. Try falloffalot or cooldude234, or someone else who's published cre8or works in the past. Otherwise just keep your fingers crossed.

I'm not sure how it runs on newer machines, it barley ran as it was :P (which means use this as-is)

Thank god, cool dude. You said you would a couple months ago (no offense)
What I said no such thing  ::)

Doesn't cre8or require a certain version of Windows .Net Framework to even run? I'm assessing various compatibility issues, and I remember quite clearly that back in the days of the Cre8or community, someone tested Cre8or and some games on Windows Vista AND 7... and it worked! Back then, 7 was a closed beta, and the guy just so happened to have gotten ahold of 7 from Microsoft. I believe we can figure out how we can get the old tool working on newer systems if we can just figure out what .Net Framework it required to run.

Also, if you have anything newer than DirectX 9 installed, you won't be able to use textures in your games, and if you DO use textures and test your game, there will be a black fog over the texture. This doesn't affect skyboxes though. If you want to use a skybox in most cre8or releases, I believe you have to switch the renderer to OpenGL, as using DirectX will cause the game to crash, due to a bug.

Creator 0.10 & 0.12 Has always been available at Anim8orworld.com along with the tutorials on how to use it. In the Media tab along with other Anim8or orientated Utilities that can no longer be found because of dead links.

All I ask is that you register with the site to obtain them

Works best with Windows XP

I downloaded the files, but none of them had any information on what .net framework is required for the program to run. Does anyone know what .net framework is required?
