Object/Viewpoint Mode?
« on: March 23, 2011, 07:08:40 pm »

So I have practically mastered all the hotkeys for anim8or and it has improved my workflow alot! I was just wondering what is the Viewpoint mode for anyways? Everytime i want to orbit, pan, and zoom around my object i just have to hit ctrl+r and use the mouse buttons left an right, as well as the mousewheel. So why waste time putting it in viewpoint mode.

I've also noticed that viewpoint mode also has a frame view button which can be easily done by pressing f. Once I learned this, I haven't gone into viewpoint mode ever since.

As you've suspected, there is no actual purpose for Viewpoint mode after learning the basics of navigating the 3D interface.

It probably should just be taken out altogether, and instead maybe replace it with a button linking to a built-in script editor, but that's some wishful thinking on my part :P

I've also used alot of Ctrl+R command to rotating the object/scene. It is usefull the "f" command, to show all, but I am still using Ctrl+R for rotating etc. Very usefull for me.
