Yo-ho-ho!
« on: January 10, 2011, 07:03:57 pm »

Long ago, A group of pirates sailed the seven seas.  Pirates of my fantasy, the Marcaigh!

This is their ship, The Black Stallion

Obvious to see, there are some things I haven't added yet, such as ropes, windows, cannon-doors.  All will be added soon, though it'll raise my poly-count extrememly.  the details on this were done with Bumpmaps, and a lot of you will probably recognize that famous, default, sunset sample picture that I used for the background.

Looks to be quite nice, CD! Except I kinda don't understnad why you rendered it so tiny, cuz I couldn't really check out many details. Either way, perspective seems a wee bit off.

did you click it to make it bigger? because it's supposed to be 800x600, only it doesn't come up that big

Yup, still seems too pixely to distinguish for me. it says its only 576x400.

Looks good. But you need to just render it with a blue background or something so we can look at it. Backgrounds are a bit cliché. :P

Once you add some more detail to it, it'll probably look great. Not that is doesn't already, of course. ;)

Ok, i'll take away the picture when I finish it, I had the background there because i'm trying to pretty much make an art piece out of it.

Here it is finished with a really crappy video of it. now I begin to see the pain and suspense of slow rendering, ugh.

yay! thanks 3D.  I really think DA should let you upload videos, it would be awesome if I could put my tests on there instead of uploading to Tinypic where they'll dissapear, or to Youtube where I really want to save for finished videos

I want to save Youtube for finished videos. but then again, I could upload as unlisted.

Anyway, I am REALLY in a pickle at the moment because my whole system on my laptop is frozen. everyone I contact is telling me I have to get local service, but I can't because there's a snowstorm! DX it would be devistating if everything has to be wiped out.
-PS. (if anyone thinks they can help me, please email me or something because i'm DESPERATE!!!)

Edit- All is fixed! Google is my HERO
