Hand Model Tutorial Issue
« on: October 14, 2010, 01:26:36 pm »

Hi

I am following the tutorial for modeling the hand.  I do this: Close the dialog and convert the Cube to a Mesh with the Build->ConverToMesh menu command.  And it still looks like a grey box.  Help?

Thanks

check out the manual and just browse through the program. it will help out a lot. + getting used to the hotkeys are a huge help in your workflow. good luck on your hand and remember to post your renders :)

Sooooooo....Now I am trying to extend out the palm of the hand and I am trying to select one of those eight points to do it.  However when I try, the whole thing gets selected?  I have a feeling I may be a pain.... But I want to try to learn this :-)

lol I really never looked at the manual. Infact I never finished making my hand in that tutorial. Had problems with making the fingers bend right or the hand being the right shape.

I'm not sure but I think it's suppose to be like that? Is selecting points, edges, and faces working? If not then meh

So things are coming along slowly but surely.  I am not able to dedicate the time I want to learning this great program.  Nevertheless, I have another issue:  How do you repair a mesh face?  I am still working on the hand.  I now was playing around with extruding the thumb and did not like the results.  I deleted the points for the thumb and now I have a hole in my hand that I can't choose the face and extrude?

Thanks
