[ COMPLETE ] Challenge #22: Vertigo
« on: September 25, 2010, 06:31:54 pm »

Vertigo

Quote from: Wikipedia
Vertigo (from the Latin vertō "a whirling or spinning movement"[1]) is a type of dizziness, where there is a feeling of motion when one is stationary.

Since this is a sensation that occurs when you're stationary, all that's required is a still render. While vertigo is often associated with heights, it can be taken literally to describe optical illusions that make still images seem like they are moving. Google's your friend!

Sticking to the core of what these Anim8or challenges are about, your work must be modeled and rendered using Anim8or. Post effects, uvmapping, and texturing is naturally allowed in any third party application.

Deadline: Completed

What will be judged: The best still render gets blue ribbon!

Winner: Janro

Not difficult at all. When I created the challenge, I was mostly thinking of a heights-oriented theme. If you can make an optical illusion of vertigo then go for it, if not then think of something high up that could make you dizzy looking down. An example of a first-person perspective shot is this: http://forgetmenot2010.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Lot07-Andre-Lichtenberg.jpg

Here's an example I made in about 10 minutes in Anim8or. You can mess with the perspective of the camera to exaggerate it even more, also.

@Cooldude: (As well) I have never used Fireworks, but PhotoShop gets the job done nicely. Along with PhotoFiltre, a free program. I use them both for texturing and any pictures I edit.

Don't quite have an idea for this one yet, but as I said, I will enter this time.
