What is this type of modeling called?
« on: March 15, 2008, 12:27:43 pm »

I was wondering what the type of modelling is called where you take a picture of the front and side of an object, loading the pictures up in anim8or and then trace and extrude. Is this type of modelling possible in anim8or and are there any tutorials on it?

There isn't really a specific type for using reference images.  Most people use it for box modeling or poly-by-poly modeling or edge extrusion.  Personally I use a combination of all of them though mostly poly-by-poly and edge extrusion.  They're all possible in anim8or.  There are plenty of tutorials, you can do a simple google search, but here's a great site with lots of tuts.  There are some that use reference images.  Currently I'm finishing one up on modeling a sword, but that's not out quite yet.
