Considering that it's a still render that's gonna be judged, an animation is out of the bounds of the contest so you're free to do whatever you want. If you want to submit a frame of that animation as the still render, it'll have to be a frame with the camera underwater.

Never figured there'd be that many questions about it, I thought "the camera must be underwater" was a pretty simple statement ;)

lol i've never seen so many fishy puns in one place haha!

looks like its gonna be a good turnout which means I will at least give this one a good think, hopefully will join in!

And when you say "the camera has to be under the water" what if the water was going the other way... can you be underneath water that is flowing upwards???

hehehe just trying to stir things up a bit

wait a minute... nowhere did it say "still"... in fact, the use of the term "scene" implied it would be rendered with a distinct hint of "animation" involved, as I read it.

If it's a "still", I'm going to withdraw, because my whole premise is based on animation.

Sorry, folks.

Gotcha, Kevin.  I don't recall even seeing that bit in the original  message... I'm with you on the 'tude. I've watched and waited for an animation-based competition and thought for sure I'd finally got wind of one...

Looking great, ADSohr. :D

I've been making some things for someone's site, to help out with designing, since I'm kind of a designer there, so I haven't had time to work on my fish thing, but I'll certainly give it my best go to enter. :)

I know I haven't posted here in a while, since I don't have much time for 3D anymore, but I fit it in where I can

This was too good to pass up

Nice work on the fish ADSohr! I'll be doing an aquarium-based render as well :)

Good work baxter, way to tie this into the current events ;) I think the oil could do with a little more work though, but good job otherwise. Are you going to finish the scene up?

No sense in getting all irritable on my part... I apologize for that.

I'm refocusing and trying to come up with something fishy in any case.

Beautiful render, benzjie! :D I hope it gets accepted. I don't see any of the challenges saying you have to RENDER in Anim8or, except for the ART Glasses challenge. ;) So it should be okay.
