Help! I still dont understand
« on: January 29, 2010, 09:11:38 am »

I have made a figure for a weapon and i still don't understan how to make it moves and how to create the animation and etc. I know how to animate but I can't do the bones to move and I already modify the bone options. And whenver the bones move, they move absolutely nothing, I've already seen the "A Simple Walk" tutorial but I Still can let the bones to move.

Thanks,

Bones are most often used for organic models.  You should be able to animate non-organic models, such as mechanical items or weapons, without any bones at all.  Virtually all of my animations --- at www.rudyschneider.com --- require no bones.

But how do you animate it? I don't find more tools for animating and moving edges for example.

use the search on the forums. try looking up morphs or morph animation. theres a few really good tutorials. i think theres a morph tutorial on the tutorials page as well. that will atleast get you started.

i think the only reason u should use a bone for a gun is the recoil. other than that i would think that morphs r the way to go.

I think what you mean is that you can't move the bone y and z axis.  Well when you move the bones, z and y you use the Right mouse button and the wheel button.

if thats the case. usually the #1 problem is you didnt unlock the bones. double click on the bone and check (or uncheck) the boxes so you can unlock the ones you want to move.
