We could guess:  You're rendering the Alpha Channel only?  You set your materials wrong?  Too much light?  Not enough light (all black)?  You broke your color graphics card?  You've suddenly gone color blind?

It would help if you shared a bit more information, like the settings for your materials or light setup, or maybe a screen shot.  It also sometimes helps to provide info on your computer setup, including the type of graphics card.

haha! Yes maybe I went colour blind :P ive tried rendering in images, alpha channel and both, but its still black and white. When I go into scene mode, the scene is in colour, but when i render it, the previews are black and white, and so is the saved file. However I have not added any lighting, I might try that now. What settings can i do to screen shot?

Hmmm...
For a Screen Shot, I suggest you use your keyboard's Print Screen key, paste the image into Paint, or some other image editor, and save it as a JPEG.  Then, you can use the "Additional Options..." using the Reply button immediately below (not the Quick Reply box at the very bottom), which allows you upload the JPEG.

Alternatively, you can use a free webhosting site, like www.imageshack.us, and include a link to the site.  Like this:
You can click on the above thumbnail to see a larger image.

By the way, what are the material settings for your object(s)?  Have you ever been able to render in colors?  What happens when you add lights?

Hi, I think it was the colour card like you said! I went onto a different computer and it worked!! Thank you for your help! I have another question though, I was wondering if the version of anim8or that you download from this site limits you to a certain amount of frames that you can render? Becuase when I am rendering, it gets an error always after 238 frames.

There shouldn't be a limitation like that, no.  Have you tried rendering different animations or just one?  If it's just the one, then my guess is there's an error somewhere in rendering that particular frame.  Speaking of which, which version of anim8or do you have?  I find the newest beta version to be much more stable than the last "stable" version.

There is certainly no such limitation to rendering in Anim8or.  I have successfully rendered over 1200 frames at 720x576dpi direct to AVI.  If the issue doesn't relate to an error as hihosilver suggests it may be that you don't have enough available memory.  My suggestion would be to attempt to render to individual frames rather than direct to AVI and knit the separate frames together afterward in something like Photoshop, Corel or Gimp.

Thank you! I think it may have been something to do with the memory, it seems to be working now, thankfully :) can you download the newest version from this site by any chance?

Yep, it's available in the "v0.97 Preview" link in the menu at the left of this screen.
