Plane Model...
« on: November 29, 2009, 08:31:39 pm »

Hello, I'm wanting to make a WWII Plane model for my next animation but I don't know how to make a plane. I tried to make one using my imagination but it got kind of difficult. I'm wonder if theres a tutorial on how to make a plane or it will be nice to make one for me. ;D Just make it look like a fighter plane.

The best thing I can suggest TheRetroZombie is to search the web for some nice orthographic drawings of warplanes (top, side, front views) and build it yourself.  The animator tools can be used to build anything you like.  If you can build a simple model, say a wineglass, a paperclip or an eggplant, you can build a warplane too.  It'll just take longer.  The Eggplant tutorial will teach you everything you need to know to model anything you like, you just need to extend the same basic principles to your chosen project.

This should help: http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/
You'll notice that the 8th section is for WWII planes.

A plane is easy to make in about 6 different ways, but the best tip is to locate the body at the centre, then cut it in half, and just make half of a plane. Then mirror it, join solids, and merge selected points.
