whats wrong with my sequence?
« on: November 01, 2009, 09:26:34 am »

Ive made this bear and Im not too concerned with making him a moving animation.. all I want to do is have a pose sequence for taking photos with.  but everytime I get the pose just how I want in sequence mode, I load it into the scene and its nothing like what I just made.  it's reacting as if my pose is too complex.  I have a screenshot to show the degrees I have for my joints(if thats the problem)  please give me a clue.. Ill be patient for a little while longer just cuz he turned out to be prettyful colored :)

here is a download for the an8 project

I also wanna share this online drawing/chat site that Im at alot.  www.iscribble.net you can draw on the same canvas live with multiple people and chat at the same time. it would be a good place to start an anim8or community at so we're able to talk to whoever is online at the time.  check it out.. let me know if you sign up and Ill meet with you

I think your problem is that you aren't adding the sequence after adding the figure to the scene.

When you add a figure to the scene you have to add a sequence to the figure.

Cool scene, liking the waves :P

I do, I had to go over some tutorials for examples.... but when I apply the sequence to the figure in the scene.. it seems to take the effect of the pose I made but VERY simplified.. for example: I twisted his waist and bent his arms and other things(he is going to be standing and rowing with a paddle)... but when I apply it, it shows the pose with only small differences from the actual pose I want... man I suck at explaining it.  it just feels messed up... need someone to go on cam to show maybe >_<

ALSO.. when I close the program and open it up again.. I check my pose in sequence mode and its drastically changed.. its like anim8tor just wants to keep him stiff

Ive already had to re pose him 3 times.. I came back and he is in his standing position again.

Have you actually run the animation of the sequence in scene mode to see the different poses you made ?

Did you save the file before closing ?  You know that Ctrl+s does not save in Anim8or, you have to click on File > Save.

Make sure you keyframe each rotation of the bones.  Otherwise they wont actually take effect.  One way to do this is, rotate the bones into the pose you want, then go "Edit>Bones>Key All Bones"

No problem!  I'm glad you got it working.  That's a nice scene, the only crit I have is that the darker pink background is showing slightly at the top of the image, and its contrast with the rest of the background really stands out.
