i make the eyeball before im ready to do the eyesocket. this way i can get some depth and shape. i pretty much just use it like a ruler. but i always model on the left side. then i mirror it then join them to make 1 model. but the sphere isnt even a mesh but all i would have to do is mirror the sphere and it would go in the right place on the right side.

you gotta learn how to read dude. some1 already asked that question in the same post. and its only a 1 page post.

welli think im going to try and make an animation. i have an idea in my head and it involves darth vader as well. so im going to try and model him 2. i really dont like the helmet so i might redo it i dont know. ill do the mask next and see what it looks like. anyway heres what i did.

EDIT: well its a good thing i wasnt too happy with the outcome. i just lost the file.

**SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!!**
 (or atleast once)

EDIT2: well heres a new helmet. and i think its alot better than that 1st one. i ran the loops in the oposite direction, which i should have done in the 1st place, but you live and u learn. so heres my new helmet. its kind of hard to see because its black. i need figure out reflections i think. anyway here it is.

thanks. but i think theres a force that doesnt want me to do this. i almost had the mask done and anim8or crashed on me. so... i had to redo that too. im not a huge starwars fan, ive seen i think all of the old movies and the 1st of the new ones. but im sure some1 here is a fan. so if you think i should go in a different direction with the vader helm please let me know. pretty much all of my references are different styles of the mask. so im kind of eyeballing it and following 2 different styles. anyway heres where im at.

edit: i was gonna stop but i guess i just couldnt. i did a little more of the mask and ill have to change it a bit. but heres a render i just did.

its hard to make it black cause u cant see anything. so i picked a lighter color just so u can see a bit of the details.

well i got a bit more done and i dont think i like it. but it wasnt easy. and i might just leave it how it is im not too sure. but then again if i make the right materials and whatnot it might look ok. anyway heres some renders.

edit: well i did a black material. and i think it wont look 2 bad. i just need to have alot of lights around him. ill have to make a good material though and ill probably need you guys's help on that.

edit2: made a head spin thing.

edit3: i went ahead and did yoda too.

You've got some really nice work there, rellik! =] I think the only thing wrong with DV is that his head is too thin. Maybe scale it out just a bit.

Although I'm not a Star Wars fan, so what do I really know? :P
Keep it up!

Pretty good. I love when people keep in mind the anatomy of characters. This way, the model is improved a lot. Judging from the models, I guess you also drawing. Someone sayd a long time ago, if you make 3d animation, you should be able to do 2d animation first. And I'm pretty sure that you do. Am I wrong ? :)

actually i really cant draw that well at all. if i have a reference to look off of and basically copy it, sometimes it will turn out ok. but if i just sit down and start drawing its horrible. the last time i drew anything was about a year ago. i impressed myself but its still not that good compared to most standards. i took pics of it on my phone ill try and see if i can post it. thanks for your compliments.

I''ve met people that even with good references can't pull it of. It needs skills. But I'm sure you can draw also. So, if you'll post yours, I will post mine :)

Drawing skill is very important in some cases, most for character or environment design. It was very helpfull and profitable for me.

well i looked for the pics i drew. i couldnt find them but they r on my phone. once i figure out how to get it off my phone ill post it. but  id love to see what you have. ive always envied people who could draw cause ive always known i wasnt good enough for it. lately ive been facinated with anime art and animation. i love the way they cheat in their animations. but if u wanna show some of ur 2d art u welcome 2 hijack my thread ill show mine as soon as i figure out a way to get it on here. it seems that on my network provider they got rid of their pic text thing so i dunno how upload right now but ill figure a way 2 do it.

i might give 2d art another go ill try and find something that interests me to try and draw it. ill post that if i ever attempt 2 try and draw in the next few days.
