Help please.....
« on: March 21, 2009, 06:57:35 pm »

Is there a way to skin the object using a single outside file.

Such as a truck. I have a gray shaded smooth truck model. I have a custom paintjob created on a different file. How do I imort the texture onto the truck?

Hey pop35eye, welcome to the forum

Regarding your question; you might have to be a bit more specific with your language, 'skinning' an object is used to make an object animatable, and doesnt have anything to do with a texture.

If you have your paintjob as a .jpg or .bmp image, you can put it onto the mesh of a truck by making a material, and putting the image in the  'diffuse' slot, the manual might help with figuring that all out.
Then you can assign that material to the truck and us the UV-tool to position the image onto the truck.

Hope this might help you on your way a bit!
Good luck!
