I want my object to bloat

Hello, is there any way to make a ball from a box. this modification has to be seen in animation. Also it has to bloat. How can i do that?

This can be done using Morph targets.

As floyd86 says, Morph Targets would work, and I'd suggest starting out by creating a sphere primitive and morphing it into a box, since re-locating the vertices correctly will be easier than the other way around.
