cutting and deleting faces?

does anyone no how to cut and delete faces?

Im trying to figure it out for the interior lighting tutorial.

To cut in an object, first of all it has to be a mesh, not a primitive (in case it wasnt already) , so select it, go to build> convert to mesh

When you have the mesh you can go to the point edit mode (see here )

then go to the side view, from which view you want to cut your shape out.
Use the knife tool to cut your shape
delete the face of the window

You will now have a hole as a window =)
