if youv'e ever played the original half life series, you probably remember coming across this little creature, the one you oh so loved when he attempted to dissintegrate you with his shockwave attack.

Reference images and texture used from http://rt.megazones.net

Yes! I do!
Baxter good work, it looks very good and almost the same as the one from the Half Life Series, good detail and good work.

P.S-They were very annoying :)

I think it looks better than the one in half-life, although played the games years ago, not sure about the recent ones, do they still have them?
The grainy render gives a 'fleshy' look to your model, not sure if that was accidental or on purpose though.

Any chance of a wire?

Maybe it could have a little improvement on the face as it is totally black, other than that its good.

No,they are not in the new Half Life games, only in the original Half Life. :)

I'm sure Valves modelers would've done a much better job than I did on the houndeye, but I'm glad you all liked it :).

Nicely done!  The modeling and texturing both look solid.
Is this for a mod by any chance?  I was looking for the creature on google to find how well you followed what it looks like, and I came across this.  Either I assume that is your model... or you "borrowed" the textures from that model.

I also see you have a high poly and low poly character, does that mean this is a game model and you're going to bake normal maps?

Well, is this for a mod, yes, and no, yes in the sense it was going to be, no in the sense in the mod already had a houndeye model.

and I'm surprised I forgot to credit where I got the refs and textures from! thats something I always do, but yes, I did use that model as a reference image to create this one, and used the same reference for texturing.

I'll edit the first post to give proper credit to the original artist the refs originated.
