Earth explosion (After Effects)
« on: January 27, 2009, 03:35:27 pm »

I made this little clip using Adobe After Effects. It's my first project entirely made in After Effects.
I spend about 3 hours on this. I could use some more inprovements, but it's looks pretty decent.

that does look pretty good. i dont think the impact would look like that though. how everything goes out from the impact. it would prolly go around the earth rather than out into space. but it does look pretty cool. good job

very slick, visual....quite alarming....applause.
i know it's work in progress but would the camera shake at my vantage point?
it might if it was hand held as naturally the cameraman would be rather peturbed by the event.

Thanks for the comments guys.
This was more of a learning project rather then creating something realistic. So you'r both right about those points.
An explosion this size would destroy the intire earth and the camera won't shake but will be destroyed too ;D.
So yes, there are alot of thing that could be better, but that is for the next project ;)

The red flames do vanishing pretty quick indeed. I first had them lasting longer, but that looked even worse. It's a fireworks plugin i used for red flames and to make it not look to much like fireworks i had to shorten the length.

Btw, who is Roy? ;D

Sorry floyd86. You know I can't even spell Kubajazz right, now I can't spell Floyd. :) :(

Those after effects are great. Makes me consider purchasing the program.

Nice work.  Although the physics and dynamics of the explosion was not accurate, it was a good technology demonstrator.  Wow man!!, you have a new toy to play with.

I would like to know if adobe after effects (and carrara) are available in stores or they need to be purchased from net only.

I will forgive you this one time ;D but never call me Roy again (i consider myself more of a Bill ;))

I love new toys, i will defentily love this toy.

I not sure about carrara but i believe AE can only be purchased online. Too bad imo, i like to have some physical evidence of my purchase.
