Had a go at some armour today, it's not turned out as first planned, but it's ok for my first go I guess.

Ok, hate to sound like I keep on bringing this up  :-X but I am about to launch the Anim8or Newb Project 2008. This is a post that I made on anim8or.org about the project in responce to punkrockrocks who wanted to learn more about the project. One more thing those that I put down as head honchos I need to know if you all want to be the head honchos.

Quote
Yes this is true. I am not 100% if this project is a go yet. My plan is to launch the project on the first day of April and hopefully complete it somewhere around the end of May. We may have to extend the time frame if necessary.
I just figured that us newbs to anim8or could make a short film. We still will need all of the help we can get. We will need people to donate models and people to help make the scenes. Hopefully this will all turn out to be a great experience. Like I said nothing is official yet but I will make the final post on the first day of April. The project will have its own topic on anim8or.com so tune in to see how it is doing and to get the full details, please all newbs help us out and if you do not see a topic on the project then it did not work out.

And no this is not an April fools joke  ;)

Yeah count me in, although I've not yet had a go of any animation but I'm happy to do any modeling or scenes.

maybe we could do like a desert(with all this mexican stuff going around) where it shows the desert food chain
ie. a fly is seen eating some carcass and gets eaten by a lizard then the lizard get it from a snake who is hten eaten by an eagle or is this too graphic/ violent? (though quite educational)

Ok the head honchos shall be me, B3dman, falloffalot (you have been added :D), im not a people person73 (yea I finally figured it out :-[) and 3D Joe Wiltshire

B3dman that sounds like a great topic, its graphic, violent, and educational what more could you ask for ;)

Also on the theme we can put some other stuff in the backgound, like when the fly is flying to the carcass in the background you can see people dueling with swords or just about anything even though the food chain is the main part of the video.
The only reason is that I said we will take any donated model so this would be easier to incoorporate into the theme. Is this ok.

And of course at the very end of the creadits we will have to have 3d versions of us wearing sombreos and playing mexican music   8)

Kreator, in the anim8or.com forum there is a topic called newbs come and in that topic me and a few other newbs got together and are going to launch The Anim8or Newb Project 2008. This project is for all of the newbs to get together and make a short film. You can find more info on this on the forum under the topic.
We want as many newbs to contribute to this project because it would be a great way for them to learn the ropes to anim8or and if we do not get enough help the project could be droped
But on to my question. Can the project have a space under the projects part of this forum so others can find out about the project that is set to launch on the first of April (not a April fools joke)
Thanks for your help.
For more info please post back or refer to the newbs come post.
Also lets discuss this

I am setting up your project Board at AnimAnon,  feel free to post to that board, Our uptime is now 99% with all host maintenance complete .

As I've no experience with the animation side of it, I'll look after the scenary if that's ok with everyone?
Will the film be realistic or sort of cartoony?

I really dont think that it matters. Just create what you want to create. Im not very good with animation but ill help put all of the scenes together and make some models. But yea you can make some scenery.

Kreator thanks alot :D because of that our project should become more reconized. Also I am glad that the more experienced members will be at hand to help since me and probably everyone else since we will need as much help as we can get.(especelly me since im not that great, but am here to learn more about anim8or) :)

just to make sure, what version of anim8or are we using for this? i currently have the non-preview version, 0.95, what versions are you guys using? just to make sure we're all compatible, i can easily download a newer version if it's needed, thanks for the thread kreator.

also, i might not be very quick making skinned models, but i know how to do it, might just take a while since i'm still figuring a few things out
