Nice start.  I think the transmap for the needles could definitely stand to be higher quality, as it's very blurry right now, which really stands apart from the ornaments.  You could also give the pot a dirt base, which would be helpful.  And don't forget presents!  Perhaps cookies and milk?

To add to Hiho's observations, you could add some furniture and some decorations on the wall, just a suggestion.

You might get some ideas from my Xmas animation

Transmap is slang for transparency map. Which is a black and white image which controls the transparency. All that is black will be transparent and all that is white will not. Using a transmap with a texture can create things like leafs, fur or grass. Read more about it in the Manual.

Wow, lots of ideas! I just neerd a plan now.
At the time I made that tree I couldn't find a very high quality image to use. I personally didn't like the blur myself. I guess I'll have to find a better one. I'm also trying to think of a better way than just a transmap, but am coming up a little short of ideas. Guess I'm addicted to realism. :P
I'm sure I'll think of something.
