Click "Profile" at the top.  Once there, you can add a picture or avatar, and a clever (or not so clever) caption for each of your posts.

In Forum Profile Information.  See picture below...

It helps if you have a link to an image.  For me, I have a link to an image on my website, but you can just as easily link it to a posting site, like www.imageshack.us.
