Grid Snap idea
« on: November 01, 2008, 03:18:29 pm »

Hi
If "grid snap" is enabled,
when moving an object,
it would be nice to draw two dashed lines along the x-y axes
(one horizontal and one vertical line, passing through the top left edge
of the object),
so as to know where the object is exactly snapped.
This would make easier the task of aligning objects.

Nice idea, I think that the lines could become three in a 3d view. Also, I would make them pass by the object's pivot, not by one of its corners, that would give more control to the alignment process. Adding some other command such as "align this object to [that] object at its [whatever] axis" would help too, and here too I would use the pivot points as reference.
