Depends on what your planning to make. For the modelling you won't have to be able to draw at all. When you go more advanced at texturing and making references, you might have to draw sometimes. But it's all up to you, if you don't want to draw anything then don't. Conclusion: drawing might be helpfull sometimes, but it's not necessary.

I have to agree!  I have some experience with technical drawings, but when I started using Anim8or, much of what I knew really didn't apply.  When I started modeling, I just dove in head first and started playing around with all the primitives, editing tools and everything else.  Made some interesting mistakes and
made some interesting models too.  One word of wisdom, never throw anything out no matter how badly it turns out!   ;D
