modify texts
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:18:33 pm »

hi,
i am trying to twist a text in anim8or but i cant find a way to do that.
when i bind a modifier to that text, the text vanishes. i tried severel ways... converting texts to meshes, filling the text, extrude the text...

i think it is because object groups cant be bount to a modifier. am i right with this? when using modifiers to only one point, it works.
but how can i get an effect like the one in the beginning of that video: http://de.
(text turning around the globe)

I haven't found any text turning around a globe in the video you posted link to. Anyway, here's my suggestion how I would bend a text:

- Extrude your text (or fill it...)
- You will get a group of meshes (each letter is one mesh); ungroup the letters
- Select all the letters and click Build>Join solids
- now you can bind and apply the modifier...
