For some reason it says Anim8or.exe is always runing and takeing up about 50% of my cpu usage :(  why is this?

When you stop working in Anim8or, do you effectively Exit the program or do you just minimize it ?

What OS are you running?  Have you done any rendering?  If so, was it a still frame or a movie?

i dont know what os is.. and yes i was rendiering.. something weird happened because i was doing a movie and i walked away and when i looked back the program was gone. so it must have closed itself while rendering

also depends on how much memory you have, some times if your video card doesn't have enough memory it will take a while to display things specially if the cpu is busy making your movie

This can happen if you cancel a render, especally if you cancel it while Anim8or is rendering the first frame of an AVI.  If Anim8or does not show up as running in the Applications tab of Task Manager, but the Anim8or process is running in Processes, I would kill the process (highlight it and click End Process).  If anything other than System Idle Process is keeping the processor busy after this, like Explorer for example, the best thing to do is wait it out.  Once the CPU is idle, reboot.  If it happens again, take note of precisely what you were doing when it occured, how you shut down Anim8or, if you were rendering or not, etc.
