This is the first part of doob checking himself out. Do note that the vid is very short, just a test.

Effective and simple, good job. I like the shaky camera effect, and the animation seems smooth. Where are you going to be taking this?

I like Doob. I like the lack of facial features so a lot of body language will make up for that: a lazy hunched over walk; stomping feet; thumbs up, thumbs down; arms up in shock or surprise ... the possibilities are endless. Good work Doob is an imaginative little character.

Thanks guys for the comments, And to Guilherme, yes the ground is bumpmapped. Using the same file I used for my Diffuse texture, and its set to 100.

As for where Im going with doob, I plan on creating his own little world with other little creatures on it, and stuff. I dont know imagine something and ill add it to the project.

So thank you guys, and some more doob material will be posted soon. Oh and if you reading this goto my "subwoofer project" and comment on that. It makes me feel good! ;D

I really like your model, but what i don't like is the texture, it ruins the simplistic look. i would suggest making him single-colored. and make the texture sort of like rubber, like a clayrender.

i think pink and light-green would look good. :)

anyway.. Really nice model!

the pink looks really weird.  (well, we've established that Doob is a him, not a her...)  the green's cool though - i'd go with that one.

Either colour can work, I think, the colours suggest age. Pink maybe innocent and curious yrs and the green a bit older, more active and keen for fun and mischief. Green to me seems like running through an open field. I'd go with that one. Or perhaps both versions in an anim8ion. Also, I just noticed, the green reflects better as the green contrasts better with the colours of the tiles.

Well ncl32 you certainly have made an imaginative character. I reckon most people here can't wait to see him in a series.

I like the green one a lot :) the pink one should be more "baby" pink, if you get what I'm saying.
this one is in a too strong color

I think that any color would work.. but it would have to have a low "tone"
here are some examples:

I think you should try lower middle blue... looks like it could suit him.

hey guys, time for a small update, And I wont have much more to update in the next couple of weeks as I am going back home to New Jersey to visit! Cant wait. Any way, I will say that I am slowly animating doob (mainly because of the trip I'm taking.) But here is a quick screen shot. I figured I would test my self to see how much expression, interaction, and "life like" smoothness I can get out of my animation. Any way I figured I would post this and keep replying while I'm away. And I also added some extras just for the heck of it.

He's a very expressionate character, brilliant work creating him!
I mean, just from a simple colour change of orange to blue, he seems more depressed, From the last video, his body language works aswell!

Can't wait to see more.
