OK, I'll keep this short guys, I'm taking a break from Anim8or (and this forum) so I can better learn other (3D graphics) programs.
I'll only be using my time on Anim8or to finish off my Industry project (1st October), and the Anim8or Movie (unknown date).

But don't worry, I'll be back in February 2009 (but you can still contact me through PM's).

We'll see you around Tanzim, and just because you're not using the program doesn't mean you have to leave the community.  There's also the CG-nation.com community which is focused on CG in general, and not a particular program.

thecolclough:  I do intend on moving on to other programs, but that doesn't mean you'll lose my presence here ;)

Calm down guys, February 2009.
I'm just leaving this community for a ~5 month period so I can learn other programs as fast as possible, or at least a good bit about them. I start year 10 next year, where I have to study for my SC, so between now and February I want to get as much done as possible.

I will still visit CG-Nation, and the Anim8or movie forum is quite dead at the moment (until we get a voice actor for the King).

thecolclough: yes, I will be learning Blender3D, as well as other programs, don't get angry, you have to agree that 3D graphics is all about the art, the program might be mentioned so people know what program specializes in what (e.g. Anim8or has a simple interface so it's easy to use etc).

List of programs I would like to learn by February (in no specific order):
  • Blender3D
  • trueSpace
  • Wings3D
  • MAYA 8.5 PLE
  • Vue6 xtreme
  • Vue6 Infinite
  • MotionBuilder PLE

I doubt I'll learn all of them

(This is my final post until February, if anyone posts here, I won't respond, except to PM's)

no, i'm not angry.  not yet, anyway - although i might be if you're not back by march or april ;D

but i agree, it's not just about which program you use, it's about how much effort you put into it.

well, all the best!

Just don't come back like *Sharp evil look at the blender forum crowd* THEM

If you do, i will have to shake the blender out of you, and i don't want to do that.
