Renders of certain resolutions wont save?
« on: September 16, 2008, 06:05:09 pm »

This has happened to me twice in the past 2 days. Im not exactly sure what triggers it, but two times Ive tried to render an image around 1300 by 600. all buttons are grayed out except for the close button.

The render appears completely done, but the progress bar looks to only reach around 90 percent.

I'm using the latest preview build. is this is a known bug?

Having all buttons grayed out except for the close button during rendering is normal.
The render looks done, but if your screen resolution is smaller then the resolution your rendering the image will be still render outside of your screen.
So none of these are bugs.

steve has said on another thread that in 0.97d, if you're rendering an image too big for the viewport (eg. what you're doing, it sounds like), it will be possible to click-drag on the image while rendering, and move it around, so you'll be able to move up to the top and see how much is left to go.  so long as you enable multithreading, that is.

I might not be able to see whats to the sides of my render, but I usually keep the height pretty short. I can see the top and bottom no problem, and it still looked completely finished. (and considering I left it render overnight I don't see why it wouldn't be) this explanation would only make sense if the render scanned horizontally, not vertically.

It sounds like it's hung somewhere.  Are you using multithreading when rendering?  Check your task manager to see how much memory Anim8or is using and how much free memory is left, etc.
