if an object is converted to subdivided you can revert it to it's original subdivision by double clicking on the object and changing the levels back to 0 and then converting your object to a mesh.

and to have reflections and glass and such like you can do that with the new ART ray tracer included in the new 0.97 version.

to download and read up about there is a link over there <<<<

and the o.97 forum has some information on ART (anim8or ray tracer)

The manual, maybe?
I mean, I got it the first time by trying the attributes button on the material editor....
Well, here...

You know......to learn it myself...

Look, Go to the materials, click attributes, click new, type "specular", click string, type "reflective" or "reflection" I forget which one...

Although this question should probably be posted in the beta forum, I'll give you a step by step procedure to add reflections to an object.

First go to the material editor and start a new material.

For now, we will just leave most of the settings as is and hit the attributes button.

Next you will see that there is nothing there. This is because you have to add the attributes
manually. In our case ( reflections ) it is quite simple.

click on the button that says "New"
The attribute name you want to add is "specular" without the quotations.
hit ok

Below this is type. We intend to type in a string so go to that selection now.
On the bottom, ( after selecting the string option button ), type in "reflection" ( again without the quotation marks ) hand hit ok.

Back in the main editor, you will use the specular option to control your reflection. at 1 is practically a mirror, and at .5 it will have some color

Hope this is helpful to you and others that have been having trouble using them
