hi good day to all im  a newbie and i want to create realistic hair but i dont know how to start i want to ask if there is a step by step procedure on how to create real hair like in final fantasy?  please i want to experience how wonderful anim8or is... thanx in advance

Try out the K Hair tutorial that you can access in Scripts on www.anim8or.com, on the left hand side of the forum

Well, i don't know if this is realistic enough for You, but You can try using transparency map, like what i made:
