« on: January 11, 2008, 11:36:39 pm »

Hello this is only like my forth real model. i have only been using anim8or for almost a year now and i am haveing problems with my first car. it looks desent for it being my first car but eventually I would like to put it in a movie that I may one day make and i would like to animate it. one problem im haveing is if i make a animation with the door open the inside of the car is kind of thin. the windows should be in betweenthe doors. i tried using the face extrude to make it thicker but mabe there is a better way. please help.

The link to the larger image doesn't seem to work (might be my end though) so its a bit hard for me to see how you have constructed your model.  Personally, if I was building a car, I would construct it similarly to how a real car is built, from separately moulded and fabricated panels and parts.  For example, I would construct a door by extruding its cross section, then tweaking the nodes as necessary.  Sure, this is a difficult way to build something, but the finished model would be excellent.
Alternatively, you could consider building separate internal panels, shaped to fit perfectly inside the car and giving the doors and panels thickness.  It would help if you could post a larger image of your car showing the wireframe.

This is good for only your 4th model. Looks like there are some smooth edges that could be made sharper, like the wheel arches. Beveling the edges would probably fix that.

Hey siragin! Nice start you have there... although, it's probably best to subdivide it when the model is completely finished!
That way it's also easier for us to spot areas that need touching up on in your wireframe!
Could you also specify the car that you're modelling?
