filling problems
« on: July 27, 2008, 09:02:21 pm »

I make closed shapes and edge loops and when I go to the edit toolbar all the edit options are blank. So I go into build and fill it but lots of lines appear in the shape. This is stopping me from being able to use edge loops and create faces. and also when I join these faces, a transperent face appears joining the the gap. ???

Could you display an image of the issue?

Press printscreen button on your keyboard, go in paint, edit>paste, save as jpg, upload to imageshack or anywhere else, and post the link or image itself here.

Basically your issue is that the fill tool creates tri's.  Those "lines" (edges) are created by anim8or because it doesn't know how you want the edges to flow, so it simply fills the shape.  What I often do is merge all the faces then use the cut tool to cut edges the way I want.  Or, just begin with the add edge tool and draw what you want instead of using the spline tool.
