How can sharp edges be rounded off
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:57:45 pm »

Hi.  Im working on modeling something thats made out of metal but I dont know how to round out the edges (they're too sharp). I dont want the edges to be too rounded because it will take away the illusion that the object is made of metal. I know 3ds Max has a chamfer tool to round out sharp edges- Does anyone know any way to do this in anim8or.  ???

Double click mesh then in 'smooth angle' box put a higher angle than default (45)

Anim8or has the 'bevel' tool which is somewhat the equivalent of the chamfer tool for 3ds max.

If you haven't already, I'd advise reading the whole manual.
